Learn about writing to friends with author/illustrator Ellie Peterson! Ellie will share from her book "Sandcastles are Forever" and lead participants through a fun letter-writing activity.

Ellie Peterson is a picture book author and illustrator living in Kirkland, WA. Her work is inspired by the countless interactions she's had with kids after 20 wonderful years as a classroom teacher and her experience growing up as a biracial army brat. Ellie's book, HOW TO HUG A PUFFERFISH, won the Washington State Picture Book award in 2023. Her recent books include SANDCASTLES ARE FOREVER (Roaring Brook, Spring 2024) and A GEODUCK IS NOT A DUCK written by Candy Wellins (Little Bigfoot, Spring 2024).
